1. Kuwa: to be

Eg:- Utakuwa mgeni wetu.

      – You will be our guest.

        2. Kufungua: to open

Eg:- Nilifungua mlango.

      – I opened the door.

        3. Kuanza: to start

Eg:- Nilianza wiki iliopita.

      – I started last week.

    4. Kufunga: to close

Eg:- Alifunga mlango.

     – She closed the door.

5. Kufahamisha: to explain to

Eg:- Nitakufahamisha.

      – I will explain to you.

       6. Kumaanisha: to mean

Eg:- Neno hili linamaanisha nini?

      – What does this word mean?

        7. Kusema: to say

Eg:- Sema asante.

      – Say thank you.

        8. Kuelewa: to understand

Eg: – Unaelewa?

       – Do you understand?

      9. Kuzungumza: to converse

Eg:- Nataka kuzungumza na wewe.

      – I want to converse with you.

 10. Kuomba: to ask for, to request

 Eg: – Naomba msaada

        – I ask for help.

         11.Kuitwa : to be called

Eg:- Ninaitwa Dona:

      – I am called Dona

12. Kutoka: to come from

 Eg:- Unatoka wapi?

       – Where do you come from?

13. Kuishi: to live

– Tunaishi pamoja

– We live together

14. Kufa: to die

Eg: – Alikufa mwaka jana.

      – He died last year.

 16.-  Kuzaliwa: to be born

Eg: – Nimezaliwa London.

 17. Kulipa: to pay

Eg: – We will pay tomorrow.

       – Tutalipa kesho

18. -Kupa: to give

Eg:- I gave you one thousand

     – Nilikupa elfu moja

19. Kuleta: to bring

Eg:- Umeleta pesa?

     – Have you brought money?

 20. kuweka: to put: gushyira

Eg:- Weka sahani chini.

     – Put a plate down.

21. Kupita: to pass (by)

Eg:- Pass by here.

      – pita hapa.

22. Kuandika: to write

Eg:- Andika hapa

      –  Write here.

       23. Kuambia: to tell

Eg:- Aliniambia jina lake.

     – She told me her name.

24.Kuonyesha : to show

Eg:- Unaweza kunionyesha wazazi wako?

     – Can you show me your parents?

 25.  Kusoma: to read

Eg:- Nilisoma kitabu.

      – I read a book.

 26. Kuwasiliana : to communicate (with each other)

Eg:- Tunaweza kuwasiliana kwa Kiswahili.

      – We can communicate in Kiswahili.

 27. Kuna: to have

Eg:- Nina kalamu

– I have a pen
